Bhai Gurbaksh Singh's Hunger Protest

Bhai Gurbaksh Singh a man from Punjab is on a hunger protest till death until the Sikh prisoners who have been put into prisons illegally and have already served their sentences are released from prisons in India. He has reportedly lost a lot of weight but still says he is in high spirits.

The United Nations and various human rights organisations have routinely reffered India’s unused judicial system as severely “corrupt” and “organized lawlessness” with judicial piles raging from as much as 10-15 years, where many detainees eventually perish within the prison system despite having served their sentences or being cleared of their crimes. Perhaps Bhai Gurbaksh Singh’s hunger strike can further highlight these grave human rights violations in a country that deceptively boasts itself to be the world’s largest democracy.
